Project Garrison’s NW Weed & Seed Special Emphasis initiative is its Computer Technology Learning Center (CTLC) where information technology is used to support and enhance the academics, i.e. Computer Training, Apollo and Hugs & Kisses programs, and work force development skills of youth and adults in the community. Our CTLC consists of twenty four work stations with dedicated and experienced staff and makes available computer access and training opportunities to all who need these services.

The CTLC is targeted for seniors, community residents, area youth/school students and adults. In February 2004, we received a SEEDTECH upgrade that allows us to also provide WEB based youth development training. Plans are underway to develop two additional satellite CTLCs.

In support of Wayland’s mission to assist youth on their journey to become productive members of society, the goal of CTLC staff is to provide a basic understanding of computer hardware and software, a working knowledge of how to use Microsoft Windows, and Office Professional and lastly, to help the students develop an appreciation for the need and value of computers and computer skills in the workplace and daily life.
